Adam should definitely try to schedule a field trip to SpectraChrome. They do cold spray chrome effect chemical deposition. It's really neat, similar to how mirrors are made, but more versatile in the surfaces it can be sprayed onto.

Why not just put a piece of carbon paper under the template that way all you have to do is run you pencil over the glifs and there transfered on the ax itself...

I'm surprised you didn't get out a pouncing wheel and bag to transfer from the print, it wouldn't have taken long at all.
Or carbon paper.
Or just put the print over the foam and draw each line heavily to transfer through to the foam.

Adam, I love you. I really really do.
And this was awesome as usual. Turned out fantastic. Can't wait to see the box.
But.... if your not going to tell jokes, humerus things about famous people from your past, tap dance or sing a song while you work... can we have music please? That humming.......that HuuMMming!
Love you much!

I love how well done it is but pattern on the flanges holding the head of the axe to the handle are inaccurate to the in game model. The version used here seems to be from prior concept art instead of the final design. Still wonderfully made and incredibly detailed.

On mobile, it's hard to read the caption, but in it, we explain that this is a real-time sequence from our Axe One Day Build. Folks are always asking for us to do fewer time lapses, so this is the de-time-lapsed raw footage.
2H80vids - 16 dager siden
Yep, I'd have to agree. No description of the process and couldn't really see what was going on. This one might have been a good candidate for time-lapse or, if using "real-time" footage, at least add a wee bit of narration/explanation. I did consider fast-forwarding but I kept expecting something to happen. Sorry Adam, not the best 25 mins of entertainment that you've put together.😒

This is where carbon paper comes in very handy, lol.
aserta - 17 dager siden
Put the 1:1 print unto a lit surface so you can see the design, trace it on the back with a oily type pencil (B level) and then put it over the item to be copied and trace the design lines with the round back of the pencil. For the other side, you only need to follow the pencil line you drew, as the printed surface of the paper will yield the print unto the material if it's not something smooth like glass or steel. BONUS round, get the backing paper from a full page adhesive paper tape, put it smooth face up (as you'd print on that face) into the printer, in the software flip the image horizontally, and print it as you'd print a photograph. Be careful to not touch the face as you extract it, and then flip it print down unto the item you want to have the design on and using a foam roller of sufficient firmness, roll around.
